Volusia County Sheriff Deputies have arrested 43-year-old Timothy S. Young of Ormond Beach on charges of possessing child pornography images following a tip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The Volusia Sheriff's detectives, in collaboration with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), conducted a three-month investigation that culminated in Young's arrest.
Young was apprehended at his residence on 1124 Avenue I in Ormond Beach Thursday afternoon on an arrest warrant that included charges of possessing sexual performance by a child and failing to register an online account as required by a registered sex offender.
During the investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at Young's home on July 21, where they seized several electronic devices belonging to him, which underwent forensic analysis by the FDLE Cybercrimes Task Force. Detectives discovered sexually explicit photos of young girls, ranging in age from under 6 to under 12 years old on the seized devices.
The evidence uncovered in this investigation strongly suggests that Young was involved in downloading files containing suspected child pornography. Currently, Young is in custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail, with bail set at $250,000, with his first appearance in court scheduled in the coming days.
