Holly Smith, Communications Manager and Government Liaison of the Florida Department of Health here in Volusia County, announced that the FLDOH has been distributing out face coverings to those who want one.
According to Smith during the County's Press Conference, the face coverings are plain white cloth masks. The use of the face-covering is to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and at this time is not mandatory in the county.
County officials are urging residents for voluntary compliance in wearing a face covering while out in public. Smith announced the Health Department has already distributed 130,000 masks throughout the county.
The masks can be picked up at any of the four following Health Department locations:
Daytona Beach – off S. Keech St
Daytona Beach – off Holsenback Dr
Deland – off Rich Ave.
Orange City – off Harley Strickland Blvd.
The Health Department will also be distributing masks at the community testing site in Daytona Beach next week. For more information visit www.volusia.org/coronavirus.
