A water leak on Dunlawton Avenue near I-95 caused some traffic delays for drivers Monday afternoon. The leak stemmed from a reclaimed water line, and crews had to turn off the line to isolate and fix the leak. Thankfully, the leak did not affect drinking water in the area, and there was no need to boil water.
Crews worked diligently to repair the leak as quickly as possible.
Due to the leak, congestion was horrendous during the Monday afternoon rush hour, with drivers continuously blocking intersections near the affected area which caused further delays. Port Orange Police Department was on the scene to help direct traffic.
According to the City of Port Orange, it is unclear what caused the leak at this time, and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will repair any damage to Dunlawton Avenue.
