Volusia County Sheriff's detectives are investigating two shooting incidents on South Brooks Avenue in DeLand this past weekend and are seeking the public’s help.

The first shooting occurred on Friday night around 11:50 p.m. when a 17-year-old male arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound. Fortunately, the injury was deemed non-life threatening. The Volusia County Sheriff's Office began an investigation, determining the shooting happened on South Brooks Avenue; however, other details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting remain limited due to the lack of substantial information from witness interviews.

In the second shooting incident, which occurred just after 1 a.m. on Sunday, the target appeared to be a residence and a vehicle on South Brooks Avenue. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, but the house and car sustained damage from the bullets fired.

The investigations into both incidents are active, and it’s unconfirmed whether they are connected.

Anyone with any information should contact the Volusia County Sheriff's Office at 386-248-1777. Alternatively, individuals can submit anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida by calling 888-277-TIPS or using the P3 Tips app.
