“Congratulations to every one of our students, employees and parents for their dedication and hard work, which is reflected in our graduation rates,” said Superintendent Dr. Carmen Balgobin. “Our team’s commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and supporting our students at every grade level has undeniably contributed to this success. We are grateful to our School Board, partners and the community at large for their continued support of education in Volusia County.”

VCS also had significant growth from 2021-2022 to 2022-2023 in all Every Student Succeeds Act populations as defined by the Florida Department of Education. This includes an increase in the graduation rate of students with disabilities in VCS every year for the last four years, going from 78.4% (2019-20) to 91% (2022-23), an increase of 12.6% in four years.
