The City of Port Orange is gearing up for an action-packed weekend, ushering in the holiday season with exciting events. As the festivities unfold, residents and visitors should stay informed about temporary changes in traffic patterns on Saturday, December 2, and Sunday, December 3.
Saturday’s celebration is the enchanting "Christmas in the Park" event, set to captivate attendees from 5:15 p.m. onwards, and to facilitate the festivities, City Center Circle will be entirely closed to traffic. Alternative parking options are available through the YMCA lot and the Palmer Clinic lot throughout the event, and normal traffic flow should resume by 9 p.m.
On Sunday, the city will witness a carefully coordinated series of traffic closures to accommodate the 45th Annual Holiday Parade. The schedule is as follows:
- S. Swallow Tail Road: Closure begins at 9 AM.
- Jackson Street: Closure starts at 11 AM.
- Dunlawton Avenue (S Nova Road to Spruce Creek Road): Road closure begins at 1 PM.
- Eastbound Dunlawton Avenue (Village Trail to S Nova Road): Closure starts at 1:15 PM.
All affected roads will reopen promptly by 5 PM, ensuring minimal disruption to the community and allowing everyone to partake in the festivities.
Event organizers appreciate the community's patience and cooperation during these temporary changes. Port Orange City officials look forward to welcoming everyone to the weekend's events, spreading joy and merriment as the holiday season officially kicks off!
