The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the Volusia County Traffic Engineering Division have announced an urgent repair operation on the traffic signal at the intersection of State Road 40 and Ridgewood Avenue is scheduled for Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. and expected to conclude by approximately 2:00 p.m.
To ensure the safety of the repair team, the Ormond Beach Police Department will implement necessary traffic control measures. As a result, the southbound section of Ridgewood Avenue at New Britain Avenue will be temporarily closed, along with the northbound section of Ridgewood Avenue at Tomoka Avenue, preventing side-street traffic from approaching the intersection during the ongoing repairs.
While the repair is underway, State Road 40 will remain open in both directions, allowing continuous traffic flow. However, no turns will be permitted from State Road 40 onto Ridgewood Avenue for the duration of the repair. Drivers should plan alternative routes or anticipate delays if their intended destination lies within this affected area.
FDOT and the Volusia County Traffic Engineering Division officials urge motorists to exercise caution while traveling through the area and comply with all traffic control measures.
