Local art showcasing Volusia County's history will be on display in the Ocean Center's ECHO Gallery, at 101 N. Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach from May 25 to June 29, 2023. Exhibit visitors can glimpse into the diverse cultural, ecological, and historical heritage of Volusia County through the artwork of seven local artists, including Bobbi Baugh, J. Walker Fischer, Fred Peace, Clare Radigan, George R. Thomas, Marianne Verna, and Robert Wince.
A reception celebrating the exhibit's opening will be held on Thursday, May 25, from 5 to 7 p.m., allowing attendees to meet the artists and discuss their techniques and inspirations. The event is free and sponsored by Volusia County’s ECHO Gallery Committee, with light refreshments provided.
Visitors can also enjoy a guided tour of the Ocean Center and explore the many pieces of art that are part of Volusia County's Art in Public Places program. Complimentary parking is available for attendees in the Ocean Center surface lots and parking garage.
The ECHO Gallery, which faces A1A, is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. To schedule a visit, call 800-858-6444. To RSVP for the reception, contact Volusia County Cultural Coordinator Robert Redd at rredd@volusia.org or 386-736-5953, ext. 15872.
