Vendors and shoppers filled the Port Orange VFW Post 3282 Thursday evening for the Just Us Girls first monthly event of 2018.
Entrepreneurs of all ages showcased a unique variety of gifts just in time for Valentine’s Day. Everyone who walked in the door received a free raffle ticket, with prizes that included vendor product samples to gift cards to Just Us Girls cash, gift certificates redeemable at any vendor.
The youngest entrepreneur at the event, Emma Bridegam, 15, daughter of event organizer Tara Anderson, introduced her customizable line of lockets, rings, and bracelets by Origami Owl. Emma also served as the lively emcee, announcing raffle winners throughout the evening. Her grandmother, Sheila Davis, visiting the family from Iowa, lent a hand at Emma’s booth.
Buyers and vendors were treated to free snacks, including generous samples of homemade fudge and toffee from Patty Morley of Patty’s English Toffee & Fudge. A huge variety of items were on display throughout the hall, including hair and skin products, wellness products, handmade jewelry, handbags, and more.
Priscilla Elliott, Beach House Designs of Daytona Beach, displayed heart-shaped resin shells and other beach finds, along with jewelry and sun catchers made with driftwood, shells, and sand collected from her daily beach walks.
Carmen Crenshaw of LilJams Boutique had two tables filled with a variety of products, from beef jerky to handmade jewelry and custom graphic t-shirts.
Other vendors included a gourmet chocolatier, Pampered Chef, Tupperware, LipSense, Lula Roe, Opulenza Designs. Rodan & Fields, Scentsy, Trades of Hope, Young Living, and Zen Garden spa of Edgewater, and many more.
“Each month we donate 10 percent of our sales to a local charity,” Tara said. This month’s sale benefitted Horizon Elementary.
Just Us Girls is held the first Thursday of every month from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Mark your calendars now for March 1, and plan to visit this fun, free event. For information on becoming a vendor, or to suggest a charity to receive 10 percent of the sales, call Tara at 386-402-6989.
