Firefly Nights Have Officially Started at Blue Spring State Park
Firefly Nights at Blue Spring State Park have started. Each night for the next three weeks, Firefly pros will offer Fireside Chats at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. behind the Thursby House at the park. They will offer Firefly Nights T-shirts in three colors, as well as buttons, magnets, and glow-in-the-dark stickers.
No white light is allowed as the fireflies will stop lighting. So no flashlights, no phone or camera lights, no bug spray, and please, no touching or catching the Fireflies! Red Glow sticks are sold for $1.
The Park Canteen will be open for dining as well as the Gift Shop.
Based on previous years, the firefly season typically lasts about three weeks. The trees along the boardwalk will come alive with the amazing twinkling fireflies - it is simply a magical experience!
Please plan to be in the park by 6 p.m. as the glow show will start once the sun is below the tree line. Secure your after hours firefly pass by 7 p.m.
The Firefly Nights after hours pass is only $14 per car. The park's entry fee is only $6 per car for the whole day. Cash, credit cards, and Apple Pay are gladly accepted.
