FDOT Reports Dunlawton Closures 6/21 & 6/22
The Florida Department of Transportation Reports that in order to complete the demolition of the old Port Orange Bridge, which previously crossed over Dunlawton Avenue / Taylor Rd, The Florida Department of Transportation will need to close a portion of Dunlawton Avenue from 10 p.m. to 5 am June 21 – June 22. The remaining pier caps and columns will be demolished. There will be a well-marked detour in the area.
The eastbound direction of Dunlawton Boulevard / Taylor Rd directly under the I-95 interchange will be closed on the night of June 21. The westbound direction will be closed the following night, weather permitting. Dunlawton Ave starts at the I-95 interchange going east, and Taylor Rd starts at the I-95 interchange going west.
During nightly construction activities, lane closures will occur along I-95 in both directions. All I-95 off-ramps will remain open to motorists traveling on I-95
During the detours, there may be more traffic on the detour routes – Williamson Blvd and Clyde Morris Blvd – than usual. Travelers are advised to slow down, and follow the detour signs through the construction zones. Posted Detours will be:
June 21 – Southbound I-95 wanting to go east on Dunlawton ave. will need to exit at Beville Rd, and take Clyde Morris blvd south to Dunlawton Ave.
June 21 – Traffic going east on Taylor Rd, wanting to go I-95 north, will need to take Williamson Blvd north to Beville Rd, where access to I-95 northbound and southbound will be open.
June 22 – Northbound I-95 wanting to go west on Taylor Rd, will need to exit at Beville Rd and take Williamson Blvd south to Taylor rd.
June 22 – Traffic going west on Dunlawton Ave wanting to go I-95 south towards New Smyrna Beach will need to take Clyde Morris Blvd north to Beville Rd, where access to I-95 southbound will be open.
