Delta Air Lines is launching exclusive direct flights catering to race enthusiasts from

New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and Detroit's Metro Airport (DTW) directly to the Daytona International Airport (DAB) on February 16 and 19, offering a swift and hassle-free means to experience the thrill of the Daytona 500 at the iconic Daytona International Speedway.

The flight schedules are as follows:

February 16:

  • DTW: Departure from Detroit at 8:44 a.m., arriving at DAB at 11:37 a.m., departing DAB for Detroit at 12:32 p.m.
  • LGA: Departure from New York at 4:28 p.m., arriving at DAB at 7:18 p.m., departing DAB at 8:08 p.m., and arriving in New York at 10:38 p.m.

February 19:

  • DTW: Departure at 8:25 a.m., arriving at DAB at 11:20 a.m., departing DAB for Detroit at 12:15 p.m.
  • LGA: Departure at 7:15 a.m., arriving at DAB at 10:05 a.m., leaving DAB for New York at 11:00 a.m.

To provide further travel flexibility, Delta has incorporated a fifth trip from its Atlanta hub (ATL) on February 19, widening the options available for travelers.

For the Rolex 24, Delta has structured a comprehensive flight schedule comprising four flights daily to and from ATL, spanning from January 23 to 26 and January 28 to 30. is an increase from the usual three flights daily during January, coinciding with the airline's systemwide reduction in ATL frequency.

“These special events and direct flights from New York and Detroit will allow even more visitors to experience the excitement of race weeks and take in the natural beauty of the entire Volusia County area,” said Joanne Magley, airport manager of air service, marketing, and customer experience. “There is also an opportunity for locals to take long weekend trips from Daytona to these popular destinations.”

While Delta has historically provided special event flights from Detroit, this marks the maiden inclusion of flights from New York City, a significant hub for travelers arriving and departing from DAB.

“Our air service development team, including our consultants with Volaire Aviation, meets with the airline route planners several times a year to showcase our community and discuss the demand for more flights and destinations out of DAB. Those conversations include information about the major events that take place here – like the Rolex 24, Daytona 500, Bike Week, and Welcome to Rockville – which draw in thousands of visitors. We continue those conversations throughout the year and are thankful to the planners at Delta for believing in our market,” said Magley.
