Daytona Beach Police Officer arrested and placed on administrative leave.

The Daytona Beach Police Department announced the arrest of Daytona Beach Police Officer Justin Dunne, charged with domestic violence misdemeanor battery, after turning himself in to the Port Orange Police Department on Thursday, December 1, 2022.
According to a release, Dunne and an unnamed female had gone out on the evening of November 30, 2022. Dunne and the female arrived at his residence around 1:00 a.m. on December 1, 2022, where an altercation took place. The unnamed female left Dunne’s residence on foot and made contact with Port Orange Police Officers, who noticed she was upset and bleeding from her knee
After taking the woman’s statement, officers tried to contact Dunne without any results until he turned himself in.
Dunne has been employed with the Daytona Beach Police Department for sixteen years and has received thirty-three commendations. Dunne is on administrative leave pending the results of the investigation.
The Daytona Beach Police Department takes criminal violation allegations very seriously and conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
