The State of Florida is funding scholarships through its partnership with Career Online High School.
Career Online is an online high school that accepts limited adult learners looking for diplomas and career certifications. The Volusia County Public Library is giving ten scholarships to adults who did not complete high school.
The Career Online High School is not a GED program, but adults can select a career focus and earn a certificate. Classes include English, Social Studies, Math, and Science. Students can also choose from other credentials, such as childcare, education, general career preparation, home care, and more.
Candidates must be a Volusia County resident, 19-years-old or older, and a library cardholder in good standing or able to apply for a card. Students can finish the program in five months but are given up to eighteen months if needed.
