Votran, Volusia County’s public transportation system, continues to experience challenges reaching pre-pandemic staffing levels. To prevent further disruptions to its customers, Votran has announced additional temporary service adjustments, effective as of Sunday, May 22.
According to a release, Routes 3, 4, 11, and 60 will now run hourly during the midday period on weekdays, from approximately 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Routes 3, 11, and 60 will depart the Votran Transfer Plaza at 32-minutes past the hour, while Route 4 will depart two-minutes past the hour during the hourly service window. Service for morning and afternoon commuting hours will continue on a 30-minute frequency, Monday through Friday.
Route 10 will now run hourly at all hours, Monday through Friday. Buses will depart the Votran Transfer Plaza 32 minutes after the hour, and Route 10, is no longer combined with Route 17. Therefore, when the Route 10 bus arrives at the transfer plaza, it will remain as the Route 10 bus. The hourly service on Saturdays across all routes will remain in place, along with the hourly service on Routes 7 and 20, which were adjusted in April.
Officials and staff at Votran are continuously evaluating operation measures and implementing route adjustments, when necessary, to maintain service. All temporary adjustments are to remain in place until a stable workforce is in place.
