Volusia County Schools Accepting Applications for School Year Program.

Volusia County Schools will provide a free, full-day Voluntary Pre-kindergarten (VPK) Program during the 2021-2022 school year. Applications will begin to be accepted on Monday, March 8.
According to a release, families zoned for the hosting schools with a child who will be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2021, are eligible to apply for this VPK/Title I Early Learning Initiative.
Hosting schools are:
- Blue Lake Elementary
- Discovery Elementary
- Edgewater Public School
- Enterprise Elementary
- Forest Lake Elementary
- Friendship Elementary
- Holly Hill School
- Indian River Elementary
- McInnis Elementary
- Orange City Elementary
- Ormond Beach Elementary
- Palm Terrace Elementary
- Pierson Elementary
- Read-Pattillo Elementary
- South Daytona Elementary
- Sugar Mill Elementary
- Sunrise Elementary
- Starke Elementary
- Timbercrest Elementary
- Turie T. Small Elementary
- Westside Elementary
The VPK program for families zoned for Horizon Elementary and Port Orange Elementary will be hosted at Atlantic High School.
The program at all sites will operate during regular school days and follow the district’s school year calendar. Transportation will not be provided.
To register, complete the application at https://www.vcsedu.org/. Classes fill quickly, so be sure to register early to secure a seat.
To participate children must be zoned for the hosting schools, 4-years old on or before September 1, 202, be a resident of Volusia County living within the school zone, and apply for a valid 2021-2022 school year Certificate of Eligibility from the Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia County.
