The Volusia County Public Library will celebrate its annual Volusia Reads Together program with "Project Hail Mary" by Andy Weir. The series will commence on March 4, 2023, and conclude with a final Space Day event on April 1, featuring a range of book discussions and space-themed events throughout the community.
In addition, the Little Theatre of New Smyrna Beach, at 726 East 3rd Avenue in New Smyrna Beach, and the Port Orange Regional Library at 1005 City Center Cir in Port Orange will host performances of an original play titled "Moonsuit," which is written and directed by library employee Karen Poulsen. Program booklets containing a list of over 200 programs, including community book discussions, film screenings, exhibits, crafts, and music programs, will be available at all county libraries starting February 19.
"Our goal is to create shared conversations around a centralized theme while hosting a series of events and activities that residents of all ages will find fun and exciting," said Library Services Director Lucinda Colee.
