Two Arrested After Detectives Recover Appliances Stolen in Burglary Spree

Volusia County Sheriff’s Office recently investigated a recent string of appliance thefts from vacant homes.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office recovered several brand-new stoves, microwaves, and dishwashers and arrested two suspects after executing a search warrant Wednesday at a Daytona Beach-area home.
Detectives recovered 18 new appliances, some still wrapped in plastic, at a residence off of Richard Lane.
During the search, detectives obtained confessions in 11 burglaries throughout the county and seized items including the vehicles used during the burglaries, cash, documents, electronics.
Vincent J. Doyle, 38, and Luis A. Aponte, 39, were both charged with burglary of a dwelling, grand theft. Doyle was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine.
Doyle and Aponte were charged Wednesday in a single burglary on Leland Drive in Deltona. Additional charges in the other cases will be forthcoming pending further investigation.
