Tim Riddle, the Director of the Ocean Center, has passed away.

The Volusia County Government has confirmed that the Ocean Center's Director, Tim Riddle, has passed away.
According to a release, Mr. Riddle died on Friday, April 28, 2023, after serving as the deputy director of the Ocean Center since August 2017 before his promotion to director in June 2020.
"Tim was truly an asset to the county and was instrumental in finding ways to keep the Ocean Center alive through the pandemic and was excited to lead its continued growth," said County Manager George Recktenwald. "Aside from being an outstanding and dedicated employee, he was a sincere and kind individual, always willing to listen and go out of his way to help someone."
Recognizing the impact of this unfortunate event, the County has deployed its critical incident stress management (CISM) staff to support and assist affected team members.
