Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood took to social media on Wednesday to share a "loser alert," claiming "some of the dumbest groups of weird losers in America" are planning to dump hate flyers in Volusia County neighborhoods over the upcoming Juneteenth weekend.
Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States.
"Just remember this is all because they feel inadequate and small with no friends and no future," said Sheriff Chitwood in a Facebook post. "They are not welcome in Volusia County and probably not welcome in their own families' homes."
In his post, Sheriff Chitwood assured that the Volusia County Sheriff's Office will continue to enforce the law and stand up for all Volusia County residents and visitors.
