The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has bestowed the City of Port Orange with the highly esteemed Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This recognition was awarded for the fiscal year concluding on September 30, 2022, commending the City of Port Orange for committing to financial transparency and accountability.

 "This award is a testament to the City's unwavering commitment to financial transparency and accountability," said Port Orange Mayor Don Burnette. "We are grateful for the honor, which reflects the continuous efforts by the city and its staff to position Port Orange as not only one of the top cities in Volusia County but in all of Florida."

The City's annual comprehensive financial report underwent a rigorous evaluation by an impartial panel of judges. The judges confirmed that the report adheres to the high standards set by the program, showcasing a constructive "spirit of full disclosure." The report effectively communicates the City's financial story, encouraging potential users and user groups to engage with its contents.
