Brian T. Richman, a 43-year-old man from Orlando, has been taken into custody on charges of traveling to Volusia County to engage in sexual activities with two underage girls, ages 15 and 16.
According to a release, Richman is facing several charges, including three counts of traveling to meet a minor, two counts of lewd or lascivious battery, unlawful sexual activity with a minor, soliciting a child for unlawful sexual conduct using a computer, promoting a sexual performance by a child, and using a child in a sexual performance. Additional charges are possible pending forensic examination of his electronic devices.
The investigation revealed that Richman had communicated with the two teenage girls via text or social media, promising to pay them in exchange for sexual acts. He even attempted to persuade one of the victims to perform sexual acts on camera so he could post the videos online to make money. Through interviews, video surveillance, license plate reader technology, and subpoenas, detectives confirmed that Richman had traveled to Volusia County to meet with the girls and carried out the illegal activities.
With a previous arrest record dating back to 2017, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested Richman during an undercover prostitution operation.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested Richman at his home on Calloway Drive while executing a search warrant with members of the VSO Child Exploitation Unit, and as of Wednesday afternoon, he was in custody at the Orange County Jail with a bond set at $275,000.
