Major Drug Bust in Holly Hill: Dealer Arrested, Narcotics Seized

Detectives from the East Volusia Narcotics Task Force, in collaboration with the Volusia Bureau of Investigation, apprehended a notorious drug dealer in Holly Hill on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, identified as 47-year-old Frank J. Powers, who was taken into custody following an extensive months-long investigation.
Powers' arrest followed the execution of a search warrant at his business address at 1516 State Ave., Unit G, Holly Hill. During the operation, detectives confiscated substantial amounts of illicit substances, highlighting the severity of the criminal activities. The seized narcotics included 729.5 grams of cocaine, 276 grams of fentanyl, 103 grams of heroin, and 112 grams of methamphetamine. Alongside these substances, authorities seized a handgun, ammunition, and $980 in cash.
The charges against Powers are grave and encompass trafficking in heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, as well as manufacturing cocaine. Additionally, Powers faces charges related to maintaining/renting a structure for drug trafficking, possession of a Schedule III substance, possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
Given the severity of the charges, Powers is in custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail and has a substantial bond of $2,125,500.
