Southeast Volusia (SEV) Habitat for Humanity is thrilled to announce they will receive a generous grant of $18,750 from State Farm to assist with repairs to homes damaged by the recent hurricanes in the Southeast Volusia County area.

According to a release, SEV Habitat for Humanity will use the funds awarded by State Farm to support five home repair projects through SEV Habitat for Humanity’s Disaster Recovery Program, which includes the purchase of tools and equipment.

Further demonstrating their commitment beyond financial support, local State Farm agents prepare and distribute disaster resource kits with young adult volunteers at Old Fort Park at 115 Julia Street in New Smyrna Beach on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to educate and prepare community members for the upcoming storm season.

"Without the help of generous sponsors such as State Farm, SEV Habitat for Humanity would not be able to continue our mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope," said Mark Billings, the Executive Director of SEV Habitat for Humanity.

Established in 1989, Southeast Volusia Habitat for Humanity serves as the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. The organization envisions a world where everyone has access to a decent place to live and strives towards this goal by uniting individuals from diverse backgrounds, races, and religions. Together, they build strength, stability, and independence through shelter. SEV Habitat invites volunteers and welcomes donations of money and materials to support their mission. The Southeast Volusia Habitat for Humanity has successfully constructed over 150 homes in New Smyrna Beach, Edgewater, and Oak Hill communities.
