DeLand's Henry in Printable Valentine’s Day Cards
By Cathy Padilla
Henry, also known as Hank, is the adorable DeLand Fire Department's live-in dog and is loved by all the staff and firefighters. Do your kids, or you, love Henry too?
To help celebrate love and friendship, Henry-themed Valentine’s Day cards are available here as a printable PDF!
The goal of having Henry as a station dog is to provide love and comfort to the fire crews as they come and go throughout their long 24-hour shifts away from home. Sharing Henry cards this month honors that goal and spreads puppy love to all.
Henry’s Story
In January 2022, a small dog walked into the grand opening celebration of Station 81. After running around the station during the ceremony, the firefighters were able to catch him and turn him over to animal control. Thirty days went by and no one came forward to claim him so he was formally adopted by the DeLand Fire Department. They named him Henry “Hank” DeLand.
