The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has announced the opening of its Hurricane Restoration Reimbursement Grant Program, starting tomorrow, February 1st, at 9 a.m. The program is aimed at addressing the coastal beach erosion caused by Hurricanes Ian or Nicole and offers reimbursement for eligible projects to homeowners who meet the program guidelines.
Homeowners interested in the program can visit the DEP website, www.floridadep.gov/hurricane to learn more about the program, view the application, and determine if they may qualify as low or moderate-income applicants. Before applying, homeowners must create a DEP grants user account and log in to the online application portal.
While the DEP encourages homeowners to apply through the online portal, paper applications are also available. The DEP urges coastal homeowners to apply as close to the opening of the online portal as possible to ensure they receive consideration.
For more information, homeowners can reach out to the DEP at 850-245-8558 or hrrgp@floridadep.gov.
