The City Council of Port Orange will deliberate on a potential increase in monthly utility rates, including sewer, impacting residents and businesses within Port Orange and Ponce Inlet on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. inside the City Council Chambers situated at City Hall, 1000 City Center Circle, Port Orange.
The proposed sewer rate hike averages around 5.75%. The City of Port Orange owns the sewer system within the Town of Ponce Inlet, and sewer services are billed by the Town of Ponce Inlet on behalf of the City of Port Orange under rates established by the City of Port Orange.
Beyond the suggested increase in monthly sewer rates, the City of Port Orange is contemplating elevating various other fees that would impact the Town of Ponce Inlet. These include augmentations in water impact fees, sewer impact fees, and connection fees.
All concerned parties are warmly encouraged to attend and actively engage in the meeting. Moreover, individuals with disabilities requiring assistance to participate in the meeting should contact the City Clerk at least five days in advance at (386) 506-5563.
