CITY OF PORT ORANGE ANNOUNCES NEW COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
PORT ORANGE, FL —The City of Port Orange announces that Tim Burman has been named Community Development Director. Mr. Burman has been serving as the Interim Community Development Director since October, after Wayne Clark, former Community Development Director, announced his departure and relocated back to North Carolina to further his career.
Mr. Burman has held many positions with the City including Assistant Planner, Planner, Principal Planner and Planning Manager. He came to the city in May 2004 after graduating from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources and earning his Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
“I’m very excited to have Tim on board to serve as a director for this department, said City Manager, Jake Johansson. “He has made some great decisions in Community Development over the past few months internal and external to the organization that will move our city forward. I look forward to his fresh set of eyes and innovative ideas.”
He is currently a member of the American Planning Association (APA) and Urban Land Institute (ULI).
