April Eco-Adventures with Green Volusia
Walk and Weed at Stetson Aquatic with Green Volusia Volunteers: From 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, at the Stetson Aquatic Center, 2636 Alhambra Ave., DeLand. Get your hands dirty by helping re-plant natives in the garden after recent flooding. Participants will join Stetson students and staff for the first hour to help plant in the garden and then take a walk on the Bartram Trail and discover native and non-native species in this beautiful area along the banks of Lake Beresford. It is recommended that participants bring their own gloves.
Green Volusia’s River Boat Ride: From 9:45 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, at DeLeon Springs State Park, 601 Ponce DeLeon Blvd. Encounter wildlife, spot native plants, and observe the beauty of our waterways while learning about the county’s water quality and the importance of planting native plants. Discover how the community plays a vital role in Volusia County’s unique environment. There are fees associated with the boat ride and parking, contact DeLeon Springs State Park Guest Services after registering to complete payment.
