Visitors and residents flying out of Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) now have access to nearly one million eBook, eAudio, comic, movie, music, television, or magazine titles for free.
Passengers can enjoy the services at the airport, while on the plane, or even in the hotel compliments of the Volusia County Library and the Daytona International Airport. The use of a library card is not needed.
According to a release, passengers can download three complimentary titles from Hoopla and Flipster, two of the library’s online platforms for downloadable content. Complimentary books also are available in the airport’s newly renovated business center; children’s books are in the new mother’s room. Passengers can enjoy books with no need to return them.
“We strive for an excellent customer experience at Daytona Beach International Airport, and we are thrilled we can offer our passengers this added library amenity,” said Marketing & Customer Experience Director Joanne Magley.
Brochures inside the business center, in the airport concourse, provide instructions on how to download content. Complimentary access to download content is only available to passengers while inside the airport, based on geolocation tagging.
To access eBooks, eAudio, comics, movies, music, or television titles, download the Hoopla app. To access magazines, download Flipster.
“Partnering with Daytona Beach International Airport is a great way to showcase the many services offered by Volusia County Public Library,” said Library Services Director Lucinda Colee. “Many people are surprised to learn how technologically advanced libraries have become over the years. Our content rivals that of many paid subscription services and allows everyone access.”
