The 3rd Annual Ryder Cup Challenge, scheduled for Friday, March 24, 2023, at Crane Lakes Golf and Country Club, at 1850 Crane Lakes Boulevard in Port Orange, is back and better than ever! This year, the Crane Lakes Men and Women Golf Association (MGA & WGA) will go head-to-head with the Daytona Travelers and other teams in a thrilling 4-person team tournament featuring a Front 9 Best Ball and a Back 9 Scramble. The golf tournament begins at 8:30 a.m. and participants of the golf tournament will receive breakfast from Panera, a greens fee, range balls, beverages, and a BBQ lunch.

Following the golf tournament, is a St. Jude Children's Hospital Luncheon Fundraiser hosted by Pars and a Purpose for a Children's Cure, from 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Crane Lakes Golf & Country Club Ballroom, where attendees can join Dave Vanvalkenburgh, event coordinator for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and friends for a fun-filled afternoon of door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, and a silent auction. To attend the event, all you have to do is make a $20 donation.

The golf tournament and luncheon event are sponsored by Belden Communications, LLC, Panera Bread, Rosevilla, Dicks Sporting Goods, and many more.

"With the support of our sponsors with funding, in-kind and other donations, Pars and a Purpose for Children’s Cure has raised over $110,000 since Oct 2021, and 100% of the proceeds from Pars and a Purpose for Children’s Cure benefits go directly to St. Jude's to help save kids lives," said Dave Vanvalkenburgh.

The funds raised will go towards the research and treatment programs that help countless children, and the success of these past events is a testament to the generosity and support of the local community.

"Thank you for your continued support in helping us raise funds for the kids at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital," Mr. Vanvalkenburgh said.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a lifesaving mission dedicated to finding cures for children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The hospital never sends a bill to families for treatment, travel, housing, or food, so they can focus on helping their child live.

Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. The hospital is determined to continue making progress in this area, and with your help, they can.

If you are interested in participating in the Ryder Cup Challenge or attending the luncheon fundraiser, contact Dave Vanvalkenburgh at davevan5674@gmail.com or 386-383-3120 for registration details. Your donation will help ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food — so they can focus on helping their child live.
